OFFICIAL NAME CHANGE FOR VALLEY 103.1 COMMUNITY RADIO

Name change better reflects targeted geographic area for community radio station serving Duvall, Carnation, and Redmond Ridge

It’s official – the new name for the growing community radio station for Duvall, Carnation and Redmond Ridge is Valley Community Broadcasting. The station itself will still go by Valley 103.1, but the new organizational name will reflect the target audience and the geographic coverage for the radio signals.

“The name of Valley Community Broadcasting better reflects our mission to provide content for Duvall, Carnation, and Redmond Ridge,” Stuart Lisk, President of Valley 103.1 said. ” Valley Community Broadcasting includes not just the FM band but streaming as well.”

All materials and internet information will be changed over the next month to reflect the new name, and the official nonprofit 501c3 name will also reflect Valley Community Broadcasting.

This is just the latest development in what has been a year’s long effort by community members to launch and operate a community based, and community serving radio station for the area. The volunteer run station is developing a variety of shows, both music and informational, to reflect the Snoqualmie Valley residents and their interests while providing a base of Adult Album Alternative music to fill a niche for the popular genre.

Those who would like to learn more about the station, participate in broadcasts or operation of Valley 103.1, or who would like to contribute can go to the website, http://biz229.inmotionhosting.com/~valle112 for more information.
